Slow and steady goes far in a day

Slow and steady goes far in a day, or I should say, if we don’t get a move on will we ever get caught up?  Well we are getting it done, slowly.  Every day Ken plants a quart of sprouted corn, about 16 to 20 rows.  And Cassie just finished transplanting the onions…now that was a big job.  I finished transplanting the Basil and Radicchio.  Ben is working on laying the plastic mulch, drip tape and cleaning up last years garden ahead of the plowing.  We plow under the green weeds before they seed and it works as a ‘dressing’ for the crops.  Also, makes it easier to lay the mulch.  The cucumbers are planted in the greenhouse and some of the corn is already a foot tall.

Corn is a foot high under the tunnels

So the garden is coming along.  Tomorrow the plan is to get some more pickling cucumbers in the ground.  Maybe I’ll get those strawberry plants in that have been waiting patiently all spring.  Never a boring moment.  Just good clean, dirt work.  And…Slow and Steady does go far in a day.  Happy spring planting.
