When to Transplant PEPPER Seedlings

It has been two weeks since we started the peppers on the heat blanket tables.  We seeded them 5 rows to a tray and seeds about ½″ apart then covered with a small amount of dirt.  Usually all the little seeds come up in this nice warm environment.  They are now ready to transplant.

You will want to wait until the plants have grown four leaves on the stems.  As you can see from the picture, they have the original two leaves plus the two new leaves and if you look real close you can see an additional two baby leaves forming.  This is the best stage to transplant as there is not stunting at this stage. The plants are happily growing and are ready for a little more root room.
